Cherishing stillness

Cherishing stillness
and quiet inside
let her listen with instinct
instead of her mind.  

Her tendency was
to get caught up in thought
when she wanted to be
more connected to gut. 

So seeking a way
to reshape her nature,
she gave herself into 
a portal of pages! 

Pages of story,
from story to dream
to surrendering into
the still in-between. 

She woke up to find
herself under a sky 
full of prismatic hares
hopping happily by. 

With curlicue clouds 
spinning triskeles around,
like a giant kaleidoscope
over the ground. 

She sat up afloat
in a luminous boat
incandescing along
in a river of crows. 

Ravens and Rooks,
Jackdaws and Jays,
Magpies 
(and once in a while a Magcake!) 

Shimmering, flickerly,
flockersome wings
whispered to her 
from a feathery stream. 

Malachite cats 
on the banks of companionship 
offered their comfort and love
at her fingertips. 

Into the distance,
up over a ridgetop,
a family of polar bears 
danced the Bunnyhop. 

Guardian barn owls 
with black diamond eyes
harmonized silent
foretokens and signs. 

Then round a bend
was a young woman beckoning,
offering blossoms
unlike any ever seen. 

Blossoms that carry
the essence of every bloom,
there within reach 
as a source for her own renewal. 

There with the woman,
a fox of gigantic size
with the vibrations of 
shaman and higher guide. 

Seeing them gave her
a sense of security,
constant support
and a bond with her wild instinct. 

As she passed near them,
the fox brushed her with her tail,
and the young woman
tossed blossoms to her as well. 

Then she awakened,
the book open where she’d left off
when she’d drifted to dream 
of the in-between. 

Not really knowing 
how long she’d been fast asleep,
had it been minutes
or years that had passed? 

Much of her power
and sovereignty cast away;
now she envisioned her
New Independence Day. 

Through intuition,
she’d opened a portal
to craft her own sacrament,
channel her More. 

All from a fantasy dream 
in a wonderland,
left with a beckoning blossom
still in her hand…
