Life has awe to offer,

Art - Arthur Rackham, The Meeting of Oberon and Titania, 1908

Life has awe to offer,
just past those shadows, look…
fairies in the forest
and lanterns in the wood!

         Lightning bugs seem humdrum
                     when they’re under the sun,
                                  yet at dusk, we see them
                                  as the Wondrous Ones.

                          They rivet our attention,
                   and lead us to believe
               in more extraordinary lore
            than we can easily perceive.

             Though a candle goes unnoticed
                 in the blaze of day,
                      in darkness,
                         it casts
                       enchanted shadow displays.

                    It isn’t all brightness
                 that can lighten a heart;
             it’s finding fragile mythic little lights
       inside the dark.

Life has awe to offer;
it’s hiding in plain sight!
Candlelight and fireflies
are trying to remind us.
