Dark and shine,

Art - Angel Dominguez, Spain, 2004, from The Girl Who Wrote Her Own Fairytale

Dark and shine,
dark and shine;
so go the days,
so cycle lives.

Cast shadows
seem so vast;
no plain way
to navigate past.

Vague hazes
permeate;
paintings fade
to murky shades.

The indigo
of yin and woe
may make us say,
“to stay or go?”

When you’re empty,
reach to me;
we’ll greet daybreak
quietly.

Light will rise.
Every time…
to chase the grays
across the sky.

Rise and fall,
rise and fall;
as with sunrays,
so for us all.
